Funeral Assistance
DITIB-ZSU supports families after a bereavement and helps organise an Islamic funeral.
Support after a bereavement
DITIB-ZSU (Centre for Social Support) provides religious and social assistance. In the event of a death, this includes guidance and personal support for relatives; financial assistance may also be available under the applicable conditions.
Assistance is for members and eligible relatives. Eligibility and which costs may be covered must be confirmed directly with ZSU under its current statutes and conditions.
Services
- Guidance and support for relatives after a death
- Organisation of ritual washing and funeral prayer in accordance with Islamic practice
- Organisation of transport to the requested burial place in Germany, Türkiye or the Balkan countries listed by ZSU
- Assistance with required official procedures and documents
- Financial assistance with repatriation costs under the applicable conditions
Who is the fund intended for?
The group described on the ZSU website includes Turkish citizens entitled to reside in and living in Germany, EU citizens of Turkish origin, and Muslims originating from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Greece. ZSU’s current membership and assistance conditions apply.
